Not Too Shabby

December 5, 2016

Hi guys!

We've had a pretty good week, finally! We still fell short of what we goaled for, but it's kinda hard to have a bad week with two baptisms. And although we didn't hit our goals, we still did way better than
previous weeks. In fact, the beginning of the week was great. It was just the end of the week that we lost a few appointments. Which I guess was just as well because Elder Cockerham ended up getting sick and passing out for most of Friday and Saturday, so he wasn't really in a condition to teach anyway.

We did get dropped by some of our investigators, but honestly, I think it is for the best. They're still kinda interested, but they want to to wait a few months until their younger brother turns 8. I think it
will be better for them and for the family for them to wait. Their dad wants to get more active, and that will give him time to do that, and it's time that the ward can be working on them. So even though I won't be here for it, I think it'll work out nicely for Elder Cockerham and whoever replaces me in a couple months.

We also have some promising referrals. Hopefully they pan out. We only have two investigators right now, and one of them might be iffy, so these referrals could really be helpful.

And of course we had Elijah and Jesse's baptism on Saturday. That was the highlight of the week. It went really well, and there was a strong turnout from the ward. It's good to see a lot of ward support. I'll attach some pictures from the baptism with this email. Unfortunately Elder Cockerham was sick so if he doesn't look very happy it's because he's not. But it was still a good day regardless, and he's feeling mostly better now. Also pay attention to Elijah, the younger one in the pictures. He enjoys making faces and being goofy in pictures. :)

And that was pretty much our week. We did have another great Zone Conference and the ZLs have us all as part of another bracket competition again this month. So that should be fun...if we can make it out of the first round! This week needs to go really well. Hopefully it does!

Have a great week, everyone!

-Elder Oswald
