Hi everybody! Greetings from the Mount Pleasant/Fairview area! Sorry this email is going to be a little short. Not a whole lot has happened.
Things
have been really good. I've adjusted pretty well, and things are going
pretty smooth. There was a chocolate festival a few days ago, and that
was pretty awesome! People kept giving us Elders free desserts! We also
got a lot of referrals and met a lot of people! So we now can very
easily start building a solid investigator base.
There
are quite a few polygamists here. I guess there aren't really a lot,
but they have a little bit of prominence. Here in this area, they are
not FLDS. It's more complicated than that. Apparently they believe our
church is the true church, and they believe in President Monson, but
they think their group is supposed to still live polygamy. It's weird,
and kind of annoying. They claim to be part of the church, but obviously
they're not. It probably confuses a lot of nonmembers. We have a couple
investigators who left that group, and they are really cool, but we
haven't talked to anyone who is actually part of that group. We're not
really supposed to mess with them unless we are invited. So yeah, I
wasn't expecting that.
Well, things are good! The people here are super nice and awesome! Hopefully I'll have more to write next time.
